While costs are subject to change, our out of pocket fee for Lap Band Removal is $500.
Your surgery is performed by Dr Balalis will be billed directly to your health fund and Medicare.
To ensure you are covered, you may like to call your private health provider and check Laparoscopic Removal of a Gastric Band – 31585 is included in your policy coverage.
Costs that are not included:
- Anaesthetist gap
- Hospital excess
- Other costs; while your health fund covers the majority of your in-hospital costs, there may be additional costs including medications, radiology scans and blood tests

If you are uninsured or self-funded, it’s important to note that there are further costs associated with your care in a private hospital as well as fees for anaesthetist and surgical assistant.
