BARIATRIC SURGERY REGISTRY: LEADING CONTRIBUTOR 2022

 

The Bariatric Surgery Registry (BSR) has again recognised Dr Balalis as a Leading Contributor in 2022.

What is the Bariatric Surgery Registry?

Primarily funded by the Commonwealth government, the aim of the Registry is to measure outcomes for patients undergoing bariatric surgery across surgical practices in Australia. It is predominantly a quality and safety registry.

The BSR has the support of the Obesity Surgery Society of Australia & New Zealand (OSSANZ) and the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (RACS), who regards the registry establishment as an important step forward in monitoring and evaluating patient outcomes across Australia.1

What is a Leading Contributor?

The Bariatric Surgery Registry annually acknowledges significant levels of contribution with Valued Contributor and Leading Contributor.  As a Leading Contributor, Dr George Balalis is acknowledged as a bariatric surgeon who has submitted over 100 operations to the Registry and returns at least 80% of follow-ups.
