This is Dannika. Our empathic, kind-hearted and rather creative accredited practising dietitian.
Dannika is passionate about working with people on their weight loss and maintenance journeys, saying it’s an incredibly rewarding area of her field. Not only does she get to help people achieve their goals, but she also gets to see them flourish and become more comfortable and confident in themselves.
Dannika has been working in dietetics since 2020, when she joined the Nutrition for Weight Loss (NFWL) team upon graduating from Flinders University. In addition to completing her Masters of Nutrition and Dietetics, Dannika has also performed a placement in the Philippines and is currently assisting Flinders University in a research study measuring the effects an international mobility program has on the view of students and graduates. She is also a member of the Dietitians Association of Australia (DAA).
If there’s a word that best describes Dannika’s approach to dietetics, it’s patient-focused. Dannika’s emphasis is always on ensuring your comfort and overall wellbeing, which means going at your pace. She also understands the importance of nutrition as fuel, ongoing weight management and eating for enjoyment and health.
Dannika’s ideal day off work includes small pleasures like drinking icy cold orange juice and outdoor activities, such as kayaking or paddle boarding. But, you might just spot her cruising the aisles at Mecca, too—where she’s known to make the occasional splurge.
